- Ivan McAlpine Longwarry Recruited to the Footscray Football Club in 1927. Played as a wingman and regularly represented Victoria in interstate football. Won Footscray Best and Fairest award in 1927, 1930 and 1932. In 1931 and 1932 he finished in the top 5 of the Brownlow Medal count. Captained Footscray in 1933, In 1934 he crossed over to Hawthorn where he had accepted the role of captain-coach.

- Jack Bissett Longwarry/Nar Nar Goon 1922 Port Melbourne in the VFA. 1928 Richmond 1928 and 1931, both ending in Grand Final losses. In between his two seasons at Richmond he was captain-coach at Nhill. 1932 South Melbourne. 1933 Captain/Coach of South Melbourne Premiership team He remained coach until the end of the 1936 reaching the Grand Finals in 1934/35/36 but did not win. 2003 named the South Melbourne/Sydney Swans coach of their Team of the Century.

- Peter Knights Longwarry 1968 drafted to Hawthorn Played 264 games. 3x Premiership player. 2x Hawthorn Best & Fairest. 1971 & 1978 Best on Ground Interstate matches. 1987 to 1989 coached the Brisbane Bears (now Brisbane Lions) 1994/95 coached Hawthorn. 1996 inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame. Hawthorn Team of the Century. Hawthorn Hall of Fame – Legend status. Longwarry Football Club Team Of The Century Runner up twice in The Brownlow Medal
