My father was born in Longwarry and apart from serving in New Guinea during the War he lived all his life in Longwarry. My mother was a city girl from Footscray, who would come to Longwarry on holidays in the 1930’s and stay with the Fords. They married in 1949. Both of them loved the town and were up for anything even if it meant dressing up and looking a bit silly at the Back To School.

Dad fell over in the school ground and took skin from his knee. It was bleeding but he wouldn’t have it cleaned up as he thought it looked “authentic”.
